i have seen some profiles that have been designed by ohter people aqnd i want to do that, how can can i create something thats totally different from all the other layouts?

If you are talking about Divs then they are hard to make. well to me anyways. You have to know html,css, and how to design the layout. if you know that stuff you should be able to make it. There are many tutorials out to help you learn about that stuff =)
